A Note of Thanks to Your Employee and Their Family

It’s WOW Wednesday! HR leaders, execs, and managers: How do you WOW the people who go above and beyond for you in your business? Or, how have you been WOWed?

Today’s WOW Wednesday comes from Jane.

She says: “I wrote a personal note of thanks to an employee that came in over the weekend to help on a big project.  I also sent a note home to her family to thank them as well and let them know I appreciate their understanding during this busy time of the year when their mom did a wonderful job here in the office.  She was so shocked and told me her kids put it up on the refrigerator.

  1. What an incredibly thoughtful gesture of Jane’s to not only acknowledge her employee but to send a note to her family as well. What a touching Wow Wednesday tip. Reading it put a smile on my face. Thank you.

  2. I love this idea. Handwritten notes are making a big comeback in our personal lives and in the workplace, and for good reason. Whatever the message, it shows the recipient that you’ve taken a step back from your daily electronic routine to offer a truly personalized message of kindness (hopefully!). Small action, big impact.
